Propellerhead Makes Major Announcement: “Figure” & “Rack Extensions”

Music producers and musicians worldwide may begin to rejoice! Propellerhead, makers of Reason, ReCycle, and Rebirth, made a HUGE announcement about the forthcoming Reason 6.5 update which will include Rack Extensions (Re). This new system allows 3rd party developers to build their own plugins for the Reason rack.

Propellerhead also announced their next venture into the mobile music market with Figure. Another great looking and functioning app that will only cost you $.99 in the App Store once Apple approves it, which should be any day now!

I think its pretty clear that Propellerhead looks to be the 1st major music DAW to host 3rd party plugins based on their own proprietary software. This will in turn lead to 100% compatibility, usability, and integration into the Reason ecosystem. I’m really excited about this move and I think its gonna have a big impact in the DAW marketplace.
